Class, Introduction to Lead Came
Stained Glass Lead Came Class - with Reilly Burgess
Saturdays, 1:30-4:30pm
January 4-February 1
Instructor Reilly Burgess will show you how to pull, cut and manipulate lead came in the traditional technique of stained glass construction. Great for framing larger pieces, or for those interested in the aesthetics of leaded work and/or restoration. Each student will complete the same project over the course of 5 sessions.
This class is for INTERMEDIATE Tiffany method artists who are BEGINNERS at leaded glass. You are expected to have experience cutting glass and fitting it to a pattern. Reilly will get you started cutting your glass during the first class, and you'll be expected to have the full pattern cut by the start of the second session. (the technique is slightly different from cutting for copper foil)
Stained Glass Express will provide:

Use of our soldering irons and other tools
Rubber gloves, putty, whiting powder, and ceiling tile board for pinning
Cubby storage space for the duration of the class
