Here we see a pair of robins nesting. Their return to Northern areas is thought to be one of the first signs of spring. Robins hop on the ground to find food. It was once thought that when they turned their heads to the ground they were trying to hear worms. Actually they are trying to see the worms better. This is the state bird of Connecticut, Michigan and Wisconsin.
