Introduction to Fused Glass 3 Sessions Most-Materials-Included Class
Wednesday, January 15 5:30-8:30pm
Saturday, January 18 9:30am-12:30
Wednesday, January 22 5:30-8:30pm
Instructor: Pam Wilcox
No Experience Necessary
This 3-session introductory course is designed to show you how to get the most out of using a rented space (like our Glass Academy here at Stained Glass Express). You will learn how to use our space, how to find tools and materials you need, how to get your projects fired just how you want them, and what to expect from glass in the kiln! At the end of 3 sessions, you will be prepared to work independently on whatever beginner projects you choose.
During the class, you will make 3 projects (more if you have time and interest) to learn three basic types of things you can do in the kiln. We'll provide all the glass for the first two projects, and then you'll shop in the store (field trip!) for a piece of glass for the third project (you could spend anywhere from $8-35).
1. An 18x5" striped bread platter (in your choice of colors from our "leftover" pile!)
2. A 6x12" dish with decoration.
3. Purchase your own glass and use what you've learned to experiment with different types of designs and kiln results. We'll suggest some small 6x6 plates, votive candle holders, or suncatchers.
(Check out our Pinterest board with some ideas for each of the three projects)
